Essence Experience Class Overview
Dates: Thursdays: May 22, 29 and June 5 and 12, 2003 -- 9 to 10:30 PM (Eastern Time); 6 to 7:30 PM (Pacific Time)
Cost: $135 (Includes two dosage bottles -- Green Bells of Ireland and a mystery essence.)
Instructors: Deborah Bier and Donna Cunningham, Co-editors of vibration Magazine.
Suitable for: Anyone from consumer to student to practitioner who wishes to have an more direct understanding and connection with plants and essences made from plants.
This online, chat-based class -- held in floral prime time for the year -- is designed to deepen your understanding of and connection not only with the essences but also with the plants essences are made from. Activities for students will include observing plants in their natural state, meditating on plants and essences, and researching the literature about a plant or essence. Each student will be taking and reporting on three essences in depth during the series -- two of which are provided as part of the class fee, and one which they already own.
Important Note: Register as soon as possible to give time for the essences to arrive. If you already own Green Bells essence, let us know not to include it in the package and we will refund $8 from your registration fee.
Overall goals: Finding ways to combine and balance the intuitive/subjective with the intellectual/objective in essence studies because both are vital and can deepen our understanding of a given essence. Training the power of observation and reflection of the plants in your immediate environment.
Students will take Green Bells of Ireland throughout the class, an essence for increasing their attunement to the plant kingdom.
In the first two weeks, students will also take and report on an additional single essence for a study project -- one which they already have on hand, or can get locally.
In the second two weeks, all of the students will take the mystery essence we've sent to them and then recording their experiences and noting how different people experience the same essence.
Techniques we will use:
Journaling as a practice to record what essence you took when, why you chose it, what the literature said, what your responses were, how it turned out, and what you needed next. Also add to your journals the insights and observations from the other techniques, below.
Meditating on an essence: Have a special personal journey with your class project essence.
Attuning to plants: Explore and develop the ability to connect to the plants that grow in your own yard, to learn from them, and to find healing within these relationships.
Researching the Literature: Use a variety of tools for learning more about plants; experience how this information broadens your class essence project.
