Vibration Magazine is dedicated to the exchange of information about vibrational remedies of all kinds on a non-partisan basis, favoring no particular company or maker of essences. We welcome queries from makers, practitioners, educators, and consumers of essences for articles about their experience. Here are some guidelines.
Style For the Internet, the style is rather different than for technical writing. To hold the attention of the reader, language should be clear, simple, vivid, and strong: personal and personable, rather than academic or technical. Articles need to be brief, specific rather than general, and with examples readers can use and apply to their own situation and needs. We will have a varied audience, all the way from advanced practitioners and makers to the just introduced and total newbies. The language of most articles would need to suit that range, though we will use more narrowly focused articles as well. We will edit for clarity and conciseness, returning the article back to you for approval.

Types of Articles We'd Like to See IN-DEPTH PORTRAITS OF SINGLE ESSENCES: Your searching thoughts and observations about single essences, going past the maker's written descriptions into specific experience of the essence. We like to include botanical information on the plant, illustrations or photographs, and even flower lore. If you have such illustrations, let us know. PHOTOGRAPHERS AND ARTISTS, WE NEED YOU, TOO!
CASE EXAMPLES: Not just the maker's descriptions, but what the issue was beforehand, what remedies were used and why, and what the results were. Ethical practice requires that you carefully disguise identities in such a public forum and, in most cases, seek the permission of the client.
SPECIAL APPLICATIONS OF THE ESSENCES: We welcome information on all kinds of applications of the remedies, such as healing of emotional issues and past traumas, to animals, children, body work, astrology, wellness, and groups. Again, the more specific essences and uses you mention, the more helpful it will be to the reader.
BOOK EXCERPTS AND REVIEWS: Brief excerpts from books in print or in process are welcome, with the approval of the publisher; reprints from other print media like journals or web pages are also possible, with permission. If you would like a review a book you've liked and feel the essence community should know about, contact us. In either case -- excerpt or review -- we can provide a link so the reader can order the book right then and there, on-line at a discount, from Amazon.com.
PANEL DISCUSSIONS: We expect to print discussions between experts on certain topics, such as essences for body work, differing views on a single essence, and so on. If you have ideas about or wish to participate in such discussions, let us know.

ESSENCE/DEVA STORIES: We have heard--and experienced--some delightful tales about what happens when you tune into the devas and make an essence. (Or, in many cases, what happens when the devas show up and say, "YOU are selected to make this essence.) Sharpen your inner story-teller and share, as vividly as you can, what happened when YOU were called and how you learned what the essence was about.
DON'T STOP AT FLOWERS: While most essences are made from flowers, we would love to help readers expand their awareness and use of essences made from other sources, such as gems, environments, animals, light, etc.
BEYOND THAT, SURPRISE US! The essences are such a rich and varied support for all of us and practitioners themselves are so creative and inventive in their usage, that we couldn't begin to predict what will come our way. We don't really, however, need terribly general articles on what the flower remedies are, since we already have topics like these in our FAQ section.
We reserve the right to edit articles for length, clarity, and relevance to a particular theme.
How to Submit Articles Before you write a whole new article, why not contact us to see if we foresee needing something on that topic? We will need the final result in a text file on diskette or by e-mail. It would be helpful to see drawings or photos as files on a high-quality scanner first in .gif or .jpg format.
Please submit text in digital form only. This means please do not send us manuscripts on paper. If you are working on Windows, please email attached documents to Donna Cunningham. If you're on a Macintosh, send text in the body of an email message (preferably) or an attached document (second best) to Deborah Bier. Or snailmail a 3.5" floppy via snailmail to the address below.
Articles should be no more than 500 words. Should the piece be substantially longer, there is an option to run it in installments.
Compensation for Articles Since Vibration Magazine is a free e-zine with no paid subscribers and is created entirely by volunteers, we regret that no monetary compensation can be provided for articles. Authors retain all rights to their articles. We will gladly provide a brief bio with the article, informing readers of how to reach you, including an e-mail address and/or link to your web site.
