Two weeks ago, I suggested a client try the Sauromatum as a single essence. This client has an ongoing issue of being everyone's helper and caretaker and finding it difficult to take care of herself. As a result, she's exhausted and totally overwhelmed by the many, many people who want things from her. Historically, she has great difficulty setting priorities between the many competing demands made of her.

At the follow-up visit, today, a lot of movement was seen! She is now grieving that her friends really don't want to reciprocate her caretaking...that they haven't been there for her when she needed them. She is very shocked to realize that they manipulate her and that some will do anything to get her to help them. She thinks she probably knew this for a long time, but wouldn't admit it to herself before. She says forcefully that she doesn't want to maintain most of these relationships any more, either.

She also reports feeling frustrated about things that have needed doing around her house. She is tired of having these chores hang on as they are unimportant except that they are getting in the way of forward motion.

She reported a moment of crystal clarity in which she saw how an acquaintance was trying to manipulate her, and she (uncharacteristically) "saw it coming and didn't fall for it." She expressed with great feeling that what other people fret about as problems are often unimportant; she just can't see wasting her own energy on these non-vital issues.

No physical complaints at all were made today. This may be a first time for no such reports!

Now, let's hope for some good follow-through. It is a complex and important transition between caretaking and self-caring, and it deserves ongoing support. I suspect we will need to turn to an essence which addresses this sense of loss and grief if it does not pass soon of its own accord. She complained that her new clarity about her relationships makes her feel alienated, and this, too, might represent a future direction for our essence work together.

NOTE: Sauromatum is available by special order from Whole Energy Essences (email them here). Description of the essence here; observations about the plant here.
