When Saturn is active in our charts, we often find we must work to change things that are not ultimately healthy for us, and this can be very disconcerting. Even when we realize what is best for us spiritually and emotionally, we may neglect working to achieve it. Often, the effort involved means having to give up ways we've operated for a long, long time. Habits take a long time to form and don't always take kindly to being broken. Essences helpful in dealing with the fear of change are as follows: Fuchsia, for greater awareness as to WHY we are afraid. If we understand the nature of the fear, it is much easier to let it go. Chicory helps us trust that the Universe will ultimately meet all our needs, so we don't have to cling to old patterns of dependency. Honeysuckle supports us in letting go of the past. These three work well together, and are especially helpful for hard aspects from Saturn to Pluto, or vice versa. Aspen alleviates that creepy feeling that something is not as it seems, but we still don't how "it" should be, or what "it" actually is that is so disturbing.
Saturn transits can be frustrating and overwhelming. They are not times when all of our needs are just met and what we desire is handed to us on a silver platter! Sometimes we cling to our old ways out of a genuine need for security and stability. Oddly enough, Saturn times in our lives can ultimately leave us feeling more safe and secure. First, however, we must learn healthier behavior, carefully building new patterns and structures and sticking to these new disciplines. Effort and hard work on ourselves can go a long way toward raising self-esteem, enabling us and those around us to truly value what we stand for. The payoff for our sustained work is that we ultimately become more successful, fulfilled human beings. What essences can support us in the process? Wild Oat comes in handy when we are trying to make healthy life choices. This remedy helps us feel better about making difficult decisions in the area Saturn is most affecting. (This is apparent in the house of the birth chart Saturn is transiting.) With Wild Oat, we won't be duped into any dubious schemes either. Blackberry is for creative visualization, helping us focus on what we wish to achieve, rather than be depressed about any setbacks. Gentian is a boost to those easily discouraged by such setbacks, and Gorse sustains those who have had serious defeats along the way. Saint John's Wort reaffirms our faith. Patience and perseverance in dealing with life's trials and tribulations are hard to come by, but flower essences sure help! With them, we can better appreciate what Saturn is trying to teach us. In time, we will recognize that hard work-- even, at times, sacrifice of what we "think" we need to be happy--pays off. In the long run, we attain something truly worthwhile--the capacity to take responsibility for our own health and integrity.
