Reiki and Essences

©2000 by James Johnson, Reiki Master

Vibrational healing is an art that offers numerous pathways to health and wholeness. Having used many healing practices, I have focused on flower and gem remedies and Reiki as my healing tools of choice. It has been a natural step to blend the use of flowers, gems and Reiki into a vibrational healing practice that offers the best of all three.

Reiki is a healing art that has its roots in ancient Buddhist and Qigong practices. Reiki is an aspect of Universal energy--the Rei in Reiki means Universal intelligence, so Reiki possesses Universally guided intelligence. This intelligence naturally allies itself with the innate intelligence of the body. By using this energy through the laying on of hands and other ceremonial practices, the intelligence of the Universe is blended with the intelligence of the body to help create balance and health.

As Edward Bach described, at the very core of all healing, is the balancing of one's life and actions with the will of the soul. When we divert from Universal Will, that deviation creates imbalance. Whatever the imbalance, if it is held long enough within the energetic field of the body, it will manifest as a physical, mental or emotional dis-ease. In my experience, blending gem essences, flower essences, and Reiki energy has proven to be quite effective to releasing the cause of such dis-ease.

When Reiki energy is channeled into a vibrational remedy, whether it is the client's dosage mixture, the stock or mother tinctures, or both, it offers a holistic balancing energy that helps the specific energies within the remedy to be used in an optimum fashion. Reiki energy also helps promote relaxation which fosters deeper healing.

My experience with blending flower and gem essences with Reiki has shown me that the remedies offer a wide bandwidth of vibrational energy that allows clients who are ready, to heal and change various aspects of their lives.

One element of my blending process is the use of quartz crystals. Quartz is one of the basic building blocks of the natural world. Its uses are many, but its ability to hold a frequency and and remember vibratory characteristics is one of its most important uses. Quartz crystal has been used for decades in radios, watches and other finely tuned electronic instruments because of its ability to hold frequency accurately. Quartz and other minerals hold the vibrations of their own inner structure too. They hold the vibration of their surroundings, color, and natural atomic makeup, which give them their natural healing properties.

Through research by Marcel Vogel and other vibrational health researchers, it has been found that by faceting and cutting minerals into specific geometric patterns, thoughts and intention can be coherently focused, and therefore used for specific healing purposes.

I use a specific Vogel crystals in blending essence mixtures for clients. A rose quartz Vogel crystal is used when love energy or the color pink are indicated. I use an amethyst Vogel for calmness and compassion or for crown chakra issues, or a smoky quartz or hematite Vogel when physical issues are the target of the remedy.

Because of the characteristics of quartz and other minerals, they are excellent for forming the foundation of an essence mixture. For instance, one may program a crystal to enhance any other vibration introduced into an essence blend. It may be programmed to hold the thought of love, or the vibrational essence of a client to better personalize an essence mixture.

Quartz can also be programmed with color to further enhance the vibrational mixture when frequencies of certain colors are indicated. The essence enhanced by the gem at this point becomes the foundation, or first step of the blending process and could be called the grounding energy, or Mother energy of the remedy and is now ready for the blending of a flower essence if one is indicated.

When a flower essence is indicated, the energetic imprint of the particular flower blends with the foundation essence previously created. When blended with the gem essence, the client is offered a wide spectrum vibrational remedy that offers the opportunity to heal on different levels.

My experience in blending flower and gem remedies parallels Dr. Richard Gerber's statement in his book, "Vibrational Medicine", that flower essences often work at higher vibratory levels than gems, and generally have more of a mental or emotional effect.

The next phase of the blending process introduces Reiki healing energy into the essence blend. During Reiki Master training, I was taught an attunement process that is used to infuse objects with Reiki energy. Once the proper blend of gem and flower essences are introduced Into the mixture, I perform that attunement to blend Reiki energy into the essence blend to add its general healing energy. This attunement can be done at the dosage, stock, or mother tincture level. Once the essence blend is completed it can be used by the client at a dosage level, or diluted as needed from a stock or mother tincture.

As a practitioner, I use the essence blends in a variety of ways. They can be taken orally or used externally, in a bath for instance, or they can be misted into the air with a misting bottle or through a humidifier. The essences work wonderfully with bodywork or any energy therapy. I always encourage a client to use the essences until they are gone, and, due to this, I never give a client more than 1/2 oz of a blend.

There is so much more to be learned in the field of vibrational Medicine and much more research must be done to verify the general principles of vibrational healing. As practitioners we each have a chance to share what we know, and what we have learned through trial and study. I hope that what I've shared in a general way will be taken and used in more specific ways with practitioners who are interested in furthering the study of blending vibrational remedies.
