They help us reconnect with our strengths and abilities, qualities which often get forgotten or disconnected from our grasp when we've been hurt. Trauma has a way of making of us forget how capable, whole and sound we are. Instead, we come away feeling helpless, vulnerable and broken. Once firmly back in place, our strengths help us heal our wounds and move forward from the trauma. Treatment of trauma can refer to an injury which is recent, or one under which we have been suffering a long time. And many times we can anticipate future trauma, in which case it would be prudent to use the essences before it strikes. Daily stress can also be considered a form of trauma--not a single one, but many, many tiny traumas, one after the other, day after day, taking their eventual toll. Seen in this light, it would be easy to imagine many ways in which the Recovery EssencesTM could be used to help handle continual, episodic, or common stress, both the kind that happens to us and the kind we do to ourselves.
Monarda
Statements: Complimented by: Wand Flower, Self-Heal Description: Trauma can stop us instantly in our tracks. It can divert us from our purpose and focus long after our wounds have closed. Monarda (also called Bee Balm) reminds us of that which we were passionate about before life came to revolve around healing a trauma we experienced. Monarda's leaves and flowers are fragrantly spicy. It grows and spreads with vigor and blooms profusely. It usually is brightly colored, and the one we made this essence from was no exception: a shocking pink. Easy to transplant, it needs just about no care. There is nothing tepid about it: it is not to be easily turned back, discouraged or dissuaded from its nature. The essence made from the Monarda flower inspires us also to not easily turn back, be discouraged, or dissuaded from our own natures. Even if we have been disappointed in our fondest wishes, it helps us find a reason to cling to our hopes and keep on dreaming. Confidence in ourselves can be shaken when we've experienced trauma; it's hard to believe in your dreams if you feel you've let yourself down. Monarda helps us find that fire we used to have. Used in conjunction with one of its companion essences, Self-Heal, we can learn to have faith in our capacities and strengths again. Passion and commitment to what we love is natural and easy when we feel fully alive and whole. Wand Flower, its other companion essence, helps us get moving in the direction of our chosen commitments. Damn the torpedoes, and full speed ahead!
