Ruby as Master Essence

©1999 by Kathleen Douglas

In personal experience and observation of friends and clients, I have found Ruby gem essence to be of many uses. It is one of the best essences for the heart chakra. It stimulates and balances matters connected with the emotions, our creativity, and our productivity.

Ruby assists in easing a variety of issues and imbalances connected with the heart, or heart chakra, especially people who have been grieving a major loss for a long time. They may have trouble in other areas as a result of being overly focused on their grief.

Ruby may be good to take with Bleeding Heart flower essence, or after one has taken Bleeding Heart for a period of time. Bleeding Heart helps us "flush out" areas in the emotions that need release, stimulating repressed feelings to the surface, and allowing the grieving process.

Ruby differs from Bleeding Heart, in that it does not just focus on release of grief from particular emotional conditions. Ruby, again, has a balancing and stabilizing effect on ALL issues connected with the heart center, including self worth issues, prosperity, and self-esteem with regards to creativity and productivity. ("I'm not good enough, so why bother?") Sometimes these types of beliefs about ourselves--conscious or unconscious--can have an underlying influence on our lives.

Interestingly, Ruby does not seem to promote catharsis, (also called healing crisis) as much as Bleeding Heart and some of the other heart-centered essences can. People report "just feeling better," with no major upheavals or sudden upsetting disturbances and realizations. They also report feeling more able to cope with life situations, and increased ease of communication, in relationships.

However, I am not suggesting that fear or grief be rerouted, or bypassed. It is important to grieve, and release emotions that are weighing on the heart. It is important to accept our feelings of hurt, anger and rage, especially if they are associated with issues that have been reactivated from the past, such as childhood trauma and abuse, divorce, death, and so on. Only when we accept and become compassionate of ourselves, can we evolve to the next steps of our enlightenment.

Don't be half-hearted! Ruby helps us to take more interest in other surroundings and activities during (and after) a period of grief or apathy. You then get GENUINELY INVOLVED in your life, not just going through the motions in a "half-hearted" manner. We begin to focus more on what is "coming from the heart." We begin to see fulfillment as something that takes place in many levels of our lives, as opposed to thinking that one certain relationship or thing will solve all our problems.

The parts of us that are sad, grieving, angry or blocked, may be healed by other parts of ourselves that can offer us understanding of a more balanced place for everything in our lives-- balanced emotional priorities, insight integrate the flow of energy through previously blocked areas of the emotional and creative nature.

In short, I believe Ruby is a master essence that every practitioner of vibrational healing should have on their shelf. If you feel that your remedies are not working well, try some Ruby elixir along with the other remedies. Or, try only Ruby for a while, to become clear about what other remedies or therapies may be beneficial. Ruby works well with Blackberry essence, in helping one to visualize and manifest one's ideals.

Thank you Ruby, for helping us realize our own richness, and the abundance we forgot we possessed! We thank you for your wisdom.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Kathleen Douglas was introduced to astrology in Vienna, Austria, where she began studying at the age of 17. Since then she has studied with a variety of teachers, including a 2 year private mentorship program with Donna Cunningham. She was also introduced to flower essences and vibrational healing through this program. In the past 6 years, she has been working extensively with flower, element, gem, and starlight essences. She maintains her private astrological practice in the Texas hill country, consulting with clients about their natal charts, and using astrology as a diagnostic tool for healing.

She is presently beginning a gemstone elixir company, where gemstone essences are now being made. The company doesn't have a name yet, but it is in the works! Some of the newest essences include Ruby, Aquamarine, Zircon, Blue Spinel, and many others. Kathleen will be happy to personalize a bottle of essences for you, to meet your special needs.
