Our readers ask

by the Editors of Vibration Magazine

We invite--and regularly get--questions from our readers, some of which we will share with you in each issue, as many of you may have similar concerns and confusions. Not all of you, however, will be wondering the same thing as our first correspondant. We are not--we assure you--making this up!

Dear Vibration, I wonder if you know its processing of how to abstract its essence from live swamp eel as a healthy food. Thanks, Joseph

Deborah Bier replies,

Dear Joseph, You are not thinking of the same type of essence we deal with. Go back to the site and look at the Frequently Asked Questions. If you think it's the same thing, then ask again.

Dear Vibration, I have used and loved crystals for a long time, so now I am fascinatinated with the idea of gem elixirs. Which has a stronger effect--wearing an amethyst pendant or taking amethyst gem elixir?
Phyllis

Donna Cunningham replies:

Dear Phyllis, Speaking only for myself, I see it this way. We all love wearing and looking at gems, especially beautiful ones like the geode pictured here from an exceptional collection at Pisces Trading. Wearing a gemstone strengthens the energy field and supports it. However, taking a gem elixir catalyzes changes in the energy field that can be permanent. For instance, the elixir may repair damage, release long-held emotional backlogs, or shift self-destructive patterns. Amethyst gem elixir is especially powerful in releasing negativity, so that could be a good one to start with.

In working with people in recovery from addictions, however, I have found that some of them have overly strong responses to gem elixirs--healing crises or emotional catharses--so I procede very slowly in using gem essences with them and may work exclusively with flower remedies. (Amethyst, by the bye, is traditionally held to help those too inclined to drink. However, that may be where wearing the stone is preferable to using the gem elixir.) In working with recovering alcoholics, do not use brandy as your preservative in the dosage bottle. Apple cider vinegar works just as well.

Dear Deborah,
I love your e-zine and look forward to each issue. Your article on essence descriptions particularly interested me. Do essence manufacturers use mother tincture, stock or dosage strength essences to test their remedies?
Thank you, Caroline.

Hi, Caroline, Good question. I suspect that would depend upon the maker. I know one who sometimes uses mother essence. But when testing the Whole Energy Essences, I use stock, reasoning that that is the way it comes to the consumer, so that is going to have the most to do with their experience with it.
Thanks for writing, Deborah Bier
