A broad definition of Cosmic Essences is that they are made from the vibrations of stars, constellations, planets, moon phases, comets, particular alignments of celestial bodies, and other "skyward" phenomenon such as rainbows, storms and the like. As with flower essences, each cosmic entity embodies different characteristics and patterns that we can access to promote balance and growth.

We are receiving increasing amounts of energies from our cosmic friends, energies which are assisting in the transformation of both ourselves and the planet. Essences made by drawing on these energies are an excellent resource for harmonizing with the higher vibrations that are being transmitted to us.

As an example, during the magnificent appearance of the Hale-Bopp Comet in 1997, I was drawn to make an essence of its vibrations, the first Cosmic Essence I made. The energy of the comet flowed into me in such a way that I was drawn to bring the energy in and make it available long after the comet was out of sight. I was guided to bring a jar of water outside and to ask the comet to energize it. I was absolutely awed by seeing a part of the energy of the tail "break off" and come toward me.

I left the water out all night, and in the morning I tested it and passed it around to others for their comments. It has an electrical quality and is very energizing. The information I received about the essence was that it stimulates unconditional love with detachment as well as the release of old patterns. This influence is energizing and is a powerful catalyst for creativity.

I discovered its potential at one point when I was with a group of other practitioners, trying to organize a network. There was very little energy, and no one would volunteer to be responsible for different areas of concern. The stalemate was frustrating and draining everyone. I remembered that I had a bottle of Hale-Bopp with me, so I made it available to anyone who wanted a little pick-me-up.

I absolutely have never seen anything like what happened next. All of a sudden, the group was energized and started coming up with wonderful ideas and ways of doing things that would work for everyone. We ended with a very wonderful healing circle that was just bursting with energy and love radiating from the whole group. I was astounded at the results!

As most essence creators and users have discovered, there are several layers of assistance from any essence, some of which are not consciously tapped. They are present, never the less, on more subtle levels. Here are two cases of totally different uses of the Hale-Bopp Comet essence, one physical, the other emotional.

I was doing energy work with a client who had arthritis in her knees, which caused them to be swollen and painful when she moved. Difficulties with the knees often signify issues around rigidity, flexibility, and resistance to change. The client was being as flexible as she could at the time, but it was accompanied with many expectations that she hadn't yet been able to shed. So, in the middle of great change, she still had a core rigidity that was blocking her and causing physical pain in the knees.

Suddenly I was inspired to put a few drops of Hale-Bopp essence on each of her knees and then continue the session. A short time after I was finished, she exclaimed that her knees were no longer swollen for the first time in a very long time. We were both quite amazed. She moved away from the area shortly thereafter, but I talked with her about two months later. She said that her knees hadn't swelled at all in that time.

In another application of Hale-Bopp, I was working with energy-sensitive children, which I define as those who are very sensitive to what is happening around them. They are bombarded by the emotions of others, but are sensitive to planetary and cosmic energies as well. Many times, they are unable to handle the onslaught. Because of this, they can be labeled ADD or similar diagnoses and given drugs like Ritalin that desensitize them to a certain extent.

Working with them, I was inspired to combine Hale-Bopp essence with another of my essences, Wisteria. Wisteria is great for kids diagnosed with ADD and related hyperactive sensitivities. It is especially good for calming people's reactions to bursts of energy that come into their field and cause the "misbehavior" or inattention. It is calming and helps smooth out the emotions, allowing for greater focus rather than being so scattered.

Wisteria and Hale-Bopp turned out to be a wonderful blend to relieve the stress and frustration of feeling these typical bursts of excess energy. The two essences seem to work well together as one helps smooth the emotions, thereby allowing the child to use the extra energy in a creative way (the Hale-Bopp connection). They respond with feelings like happy excitement rather than anger and frustration. The combination seems to bring a clarity to these children that I have never observed before.

Cosmic essences are a magnificent complement to all of the other vibrational remedies, but they also assist us in very exquisite ways on their own. If you feel drawn to them, then explore and experiment, for they have made themselves available to you for your growth. Besides that, they are fun!!!!
