Russet Chrysanthemum Bud Essence:
Collaboration and Community
©1998 Deborah Bier
Editor's Note: The below is excerpted from the text of Flowerbase, a computerized essence reparatory which includes Living Essences, Whole Energy Essences, English Herbs, Dr. Bach Today, and other companies' information.
This is the description of this essence as it is made by Whole Energy Essences. A useful exercise would be to look at other chrysanthemum essences made by other makers and compare their descriptions. Are they the same? And if not, can you find the common threads through them?

"It's a dog-eat-dog kind of world." "Each man for himself." "The cream floats to the top."In the end, these sentiments feeds the cycles of domination/submission; haves/have-nots; innate superiority/inferiority. This is fine to believe in if you wish to continue to live the way we have.
But Russet Chrysanthemum Bud knows another way. It feels an important part of spiritual evolution is about making and living a commitment toward community and collaboration. This means that traditional, vertical hierarchies lose their place of dominance. Leadership is still important, but the focus of power does not lie at the top only.
The solo instrument has it's own lovely qualities, but it can never express the greatness of the orchestra all by itself. Joining together with others helps us create and achieve what we could never do alone. And besides, it can be fun...honestly!
Studies have shown that certain types of illnesses like heart disease increase when people feel they have no control in their work lives. In environments where workers feel valued for their opinions and abilities, have a say in how they perform their jobs, what their environment is like, there is less illness. In other words, when the commitment is to collaboration, respect, and creativity, a healthier way of life results.
Part of a good collaborative effort is to build a team with complimentary skills. This means learning to appreciate and value diversity rather than demanding the safety of blind conformity from all group members. This is an important step toward celebrating each of us in our amazing variety rather than damning us for our differences.
Celebrating and valuing diversity isn't just a human-to-human concept: all forms of life are included. Russett C-mum Bud recognizes we each have our own place in the universe.
Most of us have felt hurt and disappointed at the hands of others. For some, this pain is so great we isolate ourselves and resist forming relationships with others. At the other polarity, some feel empty and without identity when not relating to others and cannot tolerate being alone. Russet C-mum Bud reminds us how to balance these two extremes.
