Beings are birth and death. Though most people
will face both and not seek to plumb the depths of
transformation and illumination that are available at
those times, some may choose otherwise. Both
experiences offer the opportunity to transcend our
attachments to our view of ourselves as being our
bodies and ego. Instead, they can provide gateway
experiences to the realization of ourselves as souls
who are deeply connected to the totality of creation.
Over the past twenty years, as I have treated those
who were dying and the people who were present with
them during their dying process, I've been
constantly struck at how unique each person's issues
and perspectives are. Flower and gem essences have proven
a wonderful catalyst to help people come to terms with what may have
been life-long issues and to view them in a higher perspective.
The ultimate choice is always to create a unique blend
of essences for each situation, but for this article, I will focus on the five gem elixirs
and fourteen flower essences that have continually
recurred when treating people who have been
coming to terms with death.
Smoky quartz grounds and stabilizes, helping to clear unwanted
energies from one's space. Pearl brings awareness and acceptance, and helps
to protect the mind.
Herkimer diamond is a gem that helps to bring a profound clarity and which
helps to stabilize and protect the astral body. Kunzite is lovely clear to
pink stone that helps us to surrender to that which is beyond the ego's
control. Azurite helps people to communicate with vitality and
authenticity.
Of the Bach flower essences, Cherry Plum helps to bring surrender and trust
under stress. Gorse helps people to find faith and hope and aids one to find
equanimity. Rock Rose helps to bring peace and tranquility, and Star of
Bethlehem helps to establish a connection with one's inner divinity.
Among the products by Flower Essences Services (FES) are six helpful essences.
Angel's Trumpet (Datura) helps one to find a place of surrender during
transformation, and aids people in experiencing the reality of the spiritual
world. Mugwort helps the integration of psychic forces and stabilizes the
astral body.
FES's Angelica helps to establish a feeling of protection. St. John's
Wort helps to illumine consciousness and to banish fear. Forget-Me-Not helps
to move people beyond loneliness and isolation into a realization of connection
with others. Love-Lies-Bleeding aids one in moving beyond personal pain and
suffering to transcendent awareness.
Of the Alaskan Flower Essences, Willow has been the most useful, bringing forgiveness and acceptance,
both of the death process and of responsibility for one's life. Moschatel has been useful for grounding mental focus. Sitka Spruce
Pollen aids in bringing one to right action in the moment, and Tamarack helps to
strengthen weak self-identity and to realize inner strength.
For thousands of years, yogis have focused on spiritual practices that
enable one to shift awareness for the ego/body to the soul/consciousness. With
the assistance of gem elixirs and flower essences, that possibility can be made
accessible to all that are interested in expanding awareness as they come to
terms with death and dying.
