Amazonian Orchid Essences
© 1992 Andreas Korte, Antje and Helmut Hofmann
This article was excerpted from Amazonian Gem and Orchid Essences, published in English by Findhorn Press in 1997.

Orchids belong to the most recent species in the evolution of the plant kingdom. With some 25-35,000 different kinds existing throughout the world, orchids have attained a huge variety of forms -- even some that imitate insects, organs and symbols. Particularly astonishing are those that look like angels or other tiny beings! This magnificent imagery with its abundance of shapes and colours is the hallmark of orchids' high-level energetic specialsation.

The orchids of Europe and the Mediterranian region are, just like other plants and flowers, rooted in the earth and therefore intimately linked with it. By analogy, on an energetic level they are directly connected with the human body: they work on our seven body chakras and affect us mainly on the astral level. Due to the particular distribution of light in Amazonia, many species of orchid there have developed roots that are no longer tied to the soil. They only have support roots and are found in the treetops, on the 'top floor' of the humid rainforest.

What does it imply, that these plants no longer live in direct contact with the earth? From an energetic point of view, it means that their actions go beyond the physical level. Just as they grow in the treetops which, in energetic terms, represent the astral body, so does their effect begin in the astral body and from there extend to the other subtle bodies.

Orchids and the Higher Chakras
Above the seven chakras linked with the physical body there are five more which we call the higher chakras. The eighth chakra is linked with the right hemisphere of the brain, that of intuitive thinking. This is the point, situated above the seventh chakra, where the soul is connected to the monad (in Greek: unity). The ninth chakra corresponds to the third eye and the left brain, which is concerned with logical thinking. The tenth chakra is related to creativity and high aspiration. The eleventh chakra is the centre which is linked to each cell nucleus of our physical body. It is responsible for their formation. The twelfth chakra is directly linked to the divine Source.

The Amazonian Orchid Essences
Due to their high vibratory frequency the collection of orchid essences provides, to our knowledge, the most subtle energies of all essences available.

Flowers, bushes and trees are connected by their roots to the earth and thus to the physical realm. This is why flower essences affect the various body chakras. The orchids of Amazonia are mostly so-called epiphytes. They live in trees and no longer have any direct contact with the earth. They live, energetically speaking, above the astral body, which is represented by the trees. These orchids vibrate at the higher realms and represent the connection between the cosmos, human beings and Earth. They help us get in contact with various levels of the cosmic love of the angels and allow us to pass on this experience of love to the Earth; in so doing they help us to heal ourselves and the whole planet.

click to orderIt is not by chance right now, at the start of the Age of Aquarius, we are becoming aware of the orchid essences. As more and more people develop spiritually, some of them are going to respond to orchid essences, which accelerate this very process of evolution. The first of these essences were produced in 1990. Due to the large number of orchids we are still just in the beginning of a vast research project, but in this task, too, we will evolve, just like our planet.
